Where Do I Find The Monthly Calendar Of Events?

To find the monthly calendar of events go to the top of our Facebook page and select Announcements, once on that page scroll down until it appears.

When Are The Registration Dates?

Please monitor the calendar of events. The registration dates are listed on the calendar of events under the event description. Look out for the sign-up sheet on the Facebook site page on those dates.

How Do I Sign Up For An Emergency Meal Or Hamper?

The team posts a sign-up sheet on the registration date in the group. If you are in need of emergency meals or hampers you need to provide/fill in your
information in the sign-up sheet in order to register.

Can I Private Message The Team To Sign Up or ask questions about Sign-Ups For Meals Or Hamper’s?

Please do not private message the team to sign up for meals or hamper’s as there are registration dates and the sign-up sheets are made available and posted on the page on those dates. The team is busy coordinating the events and request you to refer to the FAQ section for questions about the Sign-Ups.
What Happens After I Sign Up? Meals: If you signed up for the meals you will receive a confirmation call FROM A PRIVATE / UNKNOWN NUMBER (that you will be receiving a meal) if you make it to the list. It will be posted in the group when the calls will be made. Pls note we will try calling twice but if you don’t answer the phone calls we will have to move to the next registrant.
Hampers:
Please note due to huge volumes we DO NOT MAKE CONFIRMATIONS CALLS, instead, WE ONLY SEND OUT CONFIRMATION EMAILS to members receiving the hampers. Please make sure to check your Spam/ Junk folder. It will be notified in the group when the emails will be sent.

What Is The Reason That I Signed Up For A Meal But Have Not Received A Confirmation Phone Call?

A telephone call from the team is essential and if you have not received a phone call after you registered then we have met our capacity. We request you to try again for the next event.

Can I Receive A Meal If I Did Not Get A Confirmation Call After Registration But Am In Urgent Need?

If you did not receive a call after registration for the Tuesday or Saturday meals and you live close to the area where the meals are being distributed, you can contact the program coordinator through private message and ask to go on standby. If you are on Standby/Waitlist you will be contacted in case of last minute cancellations or no-shows.

What Is The Reason That I Signed Up For A Hamper But Have Not Received A Confirmation Email?

A confirmation email from the team is essential. We want to first request you to check your Spam or Junk folder and if you have still not received the email after you registered then we have met our capacity. We request you to try again for the next event.

On what Basis are the meals and Hampers allotted?

Meals: Meals are allotted in order to “Share the Wealth”. It is because our resources are limited and we are trying to help as many families as possible.
Meals are allotted in the following order of priority: Firstly Folks that haven’t had before, then Folks that haven’t had recently and then folks that have had recently will be considered. (However, if you are in urgent need and would like to be on standby/waitlist, in case of no shows or last min cancellations pls get in touch with the program coordinators for details).
Hampers: Hampers are allotted on a First-come-First-served basis till supplies last/sign-ups close.

What Happens After I Received Confirmation For A Meal Or Hamper BUT Can Not Attend The Day Of The Event?

Life Happens, If something comes up after you have registered and received confirmation for a meal or hamper and can not attend or receive a delivery, please private message the appropriate program coordinators and please give at least an hour’s notice so we can contact our standby list. If you fail to let us know of your absence in advance you will be considered a no show.

What Is Considered A No Show?

A no show is when you sign up through registration and have received a confirmation but do not attend to pick up your meal or hamper on time, or for deliveries, on the day of delivery do not respond to multiple phone call attempts or if you are not there at the time of delivery and have not informed the team of your absence.

What Happens If I Don’t Show Up For A Meal Or A Hamper and Do Not Inform the Concerned Team?

If you do not make an effort to call and cancel, the team will tolerate up to two no shows. After that from the date of the final no-show, you will be suspended from the meals or hamper’s for one month. After one month you can sign up again but if you are a no show one more time you will be prohibited from all meals and hamper’s as there are many in need. This is also mentioned at the bottom of each of our forms as a Disclaimer.

Whom Can I Contact If I Cannot Attend An Event Or Receive A Delivery After Confirming?

What Are Tuesday Meals?

The Tuesday Meals are Pizzas donated by our generous Sponsors Dominos, Pizza Pizza and Pizza 204.

What Kind Of Toppings Are On The Pizzas?

We are not informed by the pizza companies what toppings of pizzas are being donated. Because of Covid-19, the boxes are sealed and we will not be able to open the boxes to check. The toppings that are more frequent to vary are Vegetarian, Pepperoni, Cheese or Chicken.

How Many Pizzas Will I Receive Per Family Member?

There are many factors that apply and the team will determine based on the information you provide in the sign-up sheet.

What Are Friday Boxed Meals?

The Boxed meals are prepared by the S.I.G.N. Foundation. They are a soup kitchen. Meals will vary.

Why Can’t I Sign Up For Friday Boxed Meals?

The Boxed meals are being delivered to Seniors and Individuals with Disability at specific Sites. If you know someone who could benefit from it and is in a group home or housing, please get in touch with Rashmi Saxena or Shelley Shepit through private message.

What Are Saturday Meals?

Saturday Meals are East Indian Meals donated by generous Sponsors (Vinnie’s Hot Foods, Garden House, Daawat, King of India and Desi pizza & Curries).

Where & When Do I Go And Pick Up My Meal and Hamper?

You can find the details of the locations and the pick-up time in the Calendar of Events. Details of open sign-ups will also be provided via Facebook posts.

Do I Have To Provide ID When I Receive My Meal Or Hamper?

No, you do not. You just need to provide the team member with your name and phone number.
