Job Description

We Got This Canada is a non-profit organization working with a mission to help families experiencing food insecurity. We are looking for a Fundraising Director to lead a dedicated team of volunteers and provide the necessary vision, leadership, and fundraising skills which will enable We Got this Canada Org (WGTC) to achieve its fundraising goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage an operative fundraising team.
  • Work with the CEO to develop annual fundraising plan, budget, and goals.
  • Inspire and support the team so the annual fundraising targets are met.
  • Lead the development of any long-term strategy to achieve long term organizational goals.
  • Maintain an updated fundraising plan including planned outreach, collected and anticipated revenue, and lead development.
  • Ensure all licensing and other legal reporting requirements are met.
  • Plan and execute 1-2 large fundraising events per year.
  • Identify and develop new potential funding stream
  • Explore different avenues and platforms to fundraise. 
  • Identify potential donors and create a plan for approaching them.
  • Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors.
  • Research and apply for grants, support grant proposals, and reports when needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Social work/ Marketing or communications (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Event planning experience, with proposal writing and institutional donors
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, manage multiple tasks to meet specific deadlines, and readjust priorities as changes happen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to write clear, structured, and persuasive proposals quickly to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements, submissions, and budget projections
  • Excellent communication and representative skills, showing proficiency in drafting solicitation emails, writing grants, and communicating extensively with organization staff and potential partners
  • Ability to build a team, motivate and inspire others
  • A strong work ethic
